London Dance Academy held another sold out event to showcase our talented teachers and steadfast students in an Alice in Wonderland themed night where passion met art. We invited our performers to embody the Wonderland theme across three rooms of entertainment and delight, our goal to elicit feelings of curiosity and desire.
The venue – the legendary Electrowerkz in Islington – had three rooms for us to host an endless tempest of entertainment from performers made up entirely of London Dance Academy students and our world-class teachers.
Our fantastic performers, dedicated crew and hard-working catering team came together to put on another spellbinding show. With the full support of Arts Council England and Here For Culture.
Our students are at the heart of what we do. These events are to provide a safe platform for our students. Whether you wish to transcend from the studio to the stage as professionals or purely for your personal goals. We support our community in all aspects of their training, and our events help to showcase their hard work through the thrill and allure of the stage.
We saw many whimsical interpretations of Wonderland. In beautiful pole and floor routines and even in Afro-beats improv. We saw a fiery Cabaret from Phoenix Rose, and passionate, heartfelt Acrobatics from Pixie Le Knot and Adam Jukes.
One of our students, Ellie Bungay, said: “This was my first time performing for London Dance Academy. And, in fact my first time performing on stage ever. Needless to say I LOVE being on stage! London Dance Academy made the whole experience so inclusive, fun and supportive. I CANNOT wait to get back on that stage!”
We hope to continue to inspire others to find out about the benefits of movement and the joy of dance. If you missed our Valentine’s Showcase, don’t fret – you can watch some of the highlights below.
London Dance Academy are Here for Culture
Our mission to continue the legacy of dance is supported by the belief of our students, teachers and the Arts Council of England. We aim to celebrate this legacy on a daily basis in our studio, as well as at our events. We invite you to see the London Dance Academy from all angles – from the stage, back to where it all started, at our studio.
Some of our performers – both teachers and students – started with just one class at our Old Street Studio. If you felt the love during our Valentine’s Event, we encourage you to see where the magic all started, try a class with us or pick up where you left off, and help us protect the legacy of dance.
