The the benefits, the teaching techniques and the intensity are all different in our Aerial classes. Which class to choose depends what you want from your training. We’s asked our teachers to explain the differences below to help you find your new favourite class.
What is Aerial Yoga?
Aerial Yoga is a slow restorative yoga practice that uses a low-hanging hammock to support the weight of your body. This allows you to achieve proper postural alignment through relaxation rather than effort.
Aerial Yoga is suitable for all levels, from complete beginners to intermediate and advanced level students.
You will gain increased flexibility, improved posture and a relaxed and peaceful state of mind.
You will find that all of our teachers off slightly different styles of aerial yoga. Follow them on Instagram to see what might be in store during your aerial yoga class!
What is Aerial Silks?
Aerial Silks uses two separate long silks which are attached to the ceiling, the class includes the basic positions, ties, and climbs on the silks. You will learn the correct grips, holds and delivery of your moves. Aerial Silks needs a lot of strength in both upper body and core, so classes are focused on conditioning to eventually make the transitions look easy. Once you learn the basics of this form and gain strength, you will find other techniques such as aerial straps and hoop easier. As our studio is 3m in height it is perfect for those just starting out on their Aerial Silks Journey.

What is Aerial Hammock or Sling?
Aerial Hammock, which is sometimes also known as aerial sling is an aerial art that uses the same hammock as aerial yoga but in a way that has been developed for performing. Aerial Hammock is more intensive that Aerial Yoga as the aim of the class is to achieve shapes and transitions. Because the hammock is used to support your body it does not require the same upper body strength as aerial silks and can be a good starting point for new aerialists.
We currently offer Aerial Hammock as part of our Aerial Circus Tricks class every Monday.

What is Aerial Deep Stretch?
Aerial Deep Stretch is a gentle routine to gradually open up the body and safely progress into more advanced stretches. Focusing on flexibility, the classes use hammocks to work against the force of gravity to effectively decompress the joints and deeply stretch the muscle fibres. Deep breathing facilitates the release of tension and toxins built up with training and stress, which prevent our body from expressing its natural flexibility. You will find yourself in positions you never thought possible!
You will also learn new breathing and stretching techniques and how to work while suspended in a hammock.
Suitable for complete beginners as well as anyone used to AntiGravity® or Aerial Yoga or deep stretching. You will learn to challenge yourself to improve your flexibility without pressure.
