Gloria! Kabarett – a magical event hosted by London Dance Academy on the 7th of August 2021 at a legendary venue in Central London. It will be another event in the series of celebrations that London Dance Academy organises to reinforce their support and love for the LBGTQIA+ community. Last year’s digital festival organised by London Dance Academy was voted one of the most uplifting moments from the LGBTQIA+ community for 2020 by the Press Association, and London Dance Academy’s team hopes to repeat Gloria’s success and honour this year.
Moulin Rouge meets Berlin Kabarett
London Dance Academy’s approach to events is to keep them as authentic as possible, showcasing the Performing Arts and new talent across the board. This year’s event will be a riotous evening of immersive performances, combining Moulin Rouge’s burlesque climate and Berlin Kabarett’s enchanting feel. For arriving guests, the night will start off with a drink at the Aerial Circus bar; guests will then be invited to take a seat at their private tables and watch the breathtaking Kabarett acts whilst indulging in a tapas dinner.
Melissa Gray on supporting our community
“The last 2 years have been incredibly challenging for the performing arts. I have been blessed to be involved in physical performance my entire adult life and felt a strong desire to directly support our community” said Melissa Gray, Founder and CEO of London Dance Academy. “Inclusivity and diversity are not just words to us – they have always been part of our core values. Since 2005, London Dance Academy has taught over 80,000 people and provided work for hundreds of freelance practitioners. Our Gloria! Digital Pride Festival 2020 provided work for over 90 artists. This year it’s our 16th Birthday and, with the support of Arts Council England, we are proud to be able to continue to offer work to over 100 artists and freelancers through Gloria! Kabarett alone. This is an event to show our continued support to the performing arts and our exceptional community. I make Art because Art made me.”
Since 2005, London Dance Academy has been an oasis of creative expression for our diverse community. We want everyone to have a fantastic time and to feel free to express themselves.
This year’s theme is old fashioned glamour, vintage golden nights, circus, burlesque, feathers and escapism. Dress to kill and run away with the Circus – live your wildest dreams.
Led by elite members of the Drag Scene
The event will be hosted by the Bougie Girls: Honey the Foxx, Cara Melle, also featuring Diamond Daniels & Kiki Snatch – the most regal comperes in the UK. The guests can expect the unexpected as the night will be ignited with dance, contortion, circus, burlesque and tease. The details of the evening’s grand finale will for now remain wrapped in mystery.
