Our therapeutic range of classes are exclusive to London Dance Academy, and are developed in-house for people who want to train and progress in a supported environment with less grrrr and more oooooooh. If you are a little nervous, or have had an injury and want to get back to training safely, all these classes are for all levels and will be tailored to you.
Sometimes stretching can get competitive, sometimes we push and push ourselves to get deeper into our stretches despite our body’s resistance. This class is all about improving flexibility – from splits to backbends and everything in between – but in a way that’s less grrr and more oooh.
This class will allow you to work deep into your flexibility safely and restoratively. We’ll hold each stretch for 3 to 5 min. Deeply stretching not just muscles, but also reaching ligaments and joints.

Headstands and Handstands (HH) – Introduction to Inversions
This class is suitable for complete beginners and anyone afraid of inversions.
We will focus on alignment, stacking, posture, balance and confidence.
We will explore ways to help you enjoy going upside down in a safe and secure way with loads of support and encouragement.

Melissa, Director of London Dance Academy, has spent most of her life dedicated to dance and the art of physical performance. Her worldwide research of different techniques has brought her to a theory of how we might achieve and maintain well-balanced, consistent splits.
She invites you to begin your journey with her to improve your splits, permanently and safely.
This class will incorporate techniques taught to Melissa by the most inspiring yoga, ballet, circus and martial artists she has had the privilege to work with over the years.

AntiGravity® Yoga is fun and relaxing but also has a therapeutic quality. It releases muscular tension through self-massage techniques. It is great for back issues and joints due to decompressing through inversions. AntiGravity® Yoga can also help to increase strength and flexibility. It refreshes the lymphatic, digestive & circulatory systems. And finally, as with all our therapeutic classes, it can help your self-esteem by conquering any upside down fears.

Aerial Yoga is a restorative yoga practice that uses a low-hanging hammock to support the weight of your body. This allows you to achieve proper postural alignment through relaxation rather than effort. It is similar to AntiGravity® Yoga, but the techniques and the equipment is different,
Aerial Yoga is suitable for all levels, from complete beginners to intermediate and advanced level students.
You will gain increased flexibility, improved posture and a relaxed and peaceful state of mind.
